Are You a Spitfire?

Have you ever heard of the word “spitfire”? If you were raised in the south, you might remember it said like this,”She had a spit-fare temper.” Yes, pronounced just like that. The word makes complete sense to me. It's someone who gets angry easily using their words to burn. What about you? Have you ever been so mad you could spit fire? It happens to all of us. But here’s where you go when that fire begins to rage.

But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.”
James 3:17-18 NLT

Pick one word that stands out to you and use it in your prayers today. Think about it in the morning, afternoon and evening. Pray about it and see where God leads you. My word is pure. There’s no way a pure heart can produce fire. So I dive into the scripture daily to secure my peace and get wisdom from above. Our world is full of self seeking angry people. Instead of contributing to that madness find ways to plant seeds of peace. That begins with you making an honest effort to be peace loving and will shine through to those around you.
